The specificationsSpecifications
Most products try to do many things adequately. This one does a single thing with a level of commitment that frankly concerns our legal team.
Pricing philosophy
We are asked this question frequently. Mostly by ourselves, late at night.
A button that is not pressed is merely a rectangle with ambitions. Charging for presses would reduce the number of presses, which would be cruel to the button.
The marginal cost of a press is approximately 0.0024 joules of your energy and zero of ours. After extensive modelling, our finance department recommended a price of €0.00, then asked to be reassigned.
We considered advertising, subscriptions, a premium press tier and selling your data. We rejected them in that order, the last one with visible disgust. We do not collect your data, so we could not sell it even in a moment of weakness.
Some things should simply be available to everyone: clean air, public libraries, and a beautifully engineered button. We cannot help with the first two.
This is written into our founding documents, which consist of this paragraph. We are not monsters.
Plans
Every plan includes the button. Every plan costs nothing. Choose wisely, or don’t; it makes no difference.

Questions
The button goes down. Then it comes back up. A number goes up by one. Depending on your settings, there may be sparks, a sound, and a brief feeling of accomplishment.
No. We looked very hard for one so that we could remove it.
Only in this browser’s local storage. There is no server, no account and no analytics. Clearing your site data resets everything, which some people find freeing.
No. A leaderboard would need a server and your data, and we would rather not have either. Your only competition is your past self, who was, frankly, not trying very hard.
Yes. Tab to the button and press Space or Enter. Screen readers hear a calm summary after you pause, not an announcement for every single press. Reduced-motion and high-contrast preferences are respected.
It doesn’t. That has never stopped us.
